Dismantling Gender Stereotypes- Digital Coloring Book

I created these two children’s coloring books as a tool to address gender stereotypes. Society often places children into boxes based on the sex they are assigned at birth, impacting what children think about who they should be, what they should like, and how they should behave. Messages such as “boys like blue” or “pink is for girls” are still deeply embedded in our culture.

While I believe we are making progress in helping children move beyond these limiting stereotypes, these messages continue to exist and can impact the way children see themselves and others. My hope is that these books can serve as tools to encourage curiosity, self-expression, and conversations around identity and individuality.

I invite you to explore these books and consider using them within your therapy practice or with the children in your home. Although these books do not encompass the full spectrum of gender identity, they are intended to serve as a starting point for meaningful conversations around gender and self-expression. One book was written for children who identify as boys, and the other for children who identify as girls, with the intention of helping children feel seen while also encouraging flexibility beyond traditional gender expectations.
